Moving into the summer, top ranked SVN has brought on two new associate advisors, two new interns and one returning intern to work with the SVN team.

Last month, SVN welcomed Ryan Johnson and Michael Tarantino as their two new Associate Advisors. Formerly one of the interns at SVN, Ryan Johnson returns to the team license in hand. “My internship last summer opened me up to the overall business of commercial real estate and showed me that SVN does it the right way. The office atmosphere is competitive, but supportive,” said Johnson. Ryan is a graduate of Arizona State University with a B.S. in Finance and a minor in Real Estate. Throughout his tenure at ASU, Ryan sat on the board of the Real Estate Club, the Leadership Forum at ASU, as well as serving as president of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Johnson also admitted into the ASU REIT Student Investment Management (SIM) Fund, where he, teamed with 10 undergraduate and master’s students, were tasked with underwriting more than 20 REIT stocks. Johnson said, “At SVN, they celebrate one another’s successes, all while motivating ourselves to make successes of our own. I was lucky enough to be offered a spot on an incredible team, working a product type that I was interested in, so I felt SVN gave me the greatest opportunity to thrive.”
Director of Marketing, PR & Administration, Melissa Swader said of Johnson, “It is always exciting to see our interns returning back as advisors. They are already one step ahead stepping into the game and know what is expected.” In addition to the Sun Devil, SVN has also welcomed U of A Wildcat, Michael Tarantino. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science of Economics and a Finance Certificate through the Eller College of Management. During his time at the University of Arizona, Michael was involved in the Greek community serving his fraternity, Alpha Sigma Phi, in various executive board roles. He also held internships with a real estate development company where he gained valuable knowledge and experience in market research and analysis, as well as asset management.
Managing Partner Perry Laufenberg stated, “Ryan Johnson and Michael Tarantino are recent graduates, from ASU and U of A respectively, that fit our company culture perfectly. They are hard workers that have a level of business acumen and coachability that will lead them to success in this industry.” Tarantino was said to interview mostly remotely but felt he picked up on the environment he would be working in. “The culture, collaborative, and welcoming nature I felt as I was going through the interview process really drew me in,” said Tarantino.
SVN also has welcomed back returning intern, Thomas Albin and two new interns from once again University of Arizona, Thomas Holben and Tanner Bryson. Managing Director, Mike Gallegos, a certified Massimo coach along with the Managing Partner invests in helping the new advisors who join SVN. “Advisors that are new to the business have a unique scenario where they start with a blank slate and can create all of the best routines, habits, and systems to maximize success. Over several years of deliberate and methodical trial & error, we know the critical areas of focus that accelerate and amplify success,” said Gallegos.
