Phoenix, Arizona – August 15, 2018 – SVN Desert Commercial just launched the first SVN Internship this summer, bringing in students from Arizona University schools to join the SVN team for the summer.  Simultaneously, SVN also brought on 2 new associate advisors who will be working fulltime at the brokerage.  In the transition of the internship, two of the interns have stayed on and will be Associate Advisors with the firm.

SVN Interns, Sean Senger, Jake Malone, Dylan Sproul, and Jurgen Mumm joined the internship program on June 1st.  The SVN Internship Program was designed as a way to add value to our group of advisors and help invest in the future of young entrepreneurs that are interested in starting a career in commercial real estate by assisting on an array of hands on projects and assignments over the summer. The program ended respectively on August 3rd with the annual summer SVN Potluck and certificate presentation of completion.  Sean Senger is heading back to University of Arizona where he will complete his Finance degree and serve as the SVN Brand Ambassador for the nationally ranked brokerage in Phoenix.  Jake Malone will be working part time while finishing his Business Management degree at Arizona State University, where he will graduate next May.  Sproul and Mumm have joined the SVN team as Associate Advisors; both already have their real estate license in place.  Mumm and Sproul will transition into the 12-week training program that provides the tools, techniques and fundamentals of the SVN brand.

Desert Commercial Advisors also brings on two additional commercial real estate advisors from recruiting efforts in the valley.  Richard Lewis Jr. previously held positions for Triyar Entertainment, a division of Triyar Capitol Real Estate as their Director of Technical Operations. He also worked for CA Ventures and Campus Apartments as a leasing and marketing manager for their student housing properties in Tucson, AZ. With hands on experience and watching the downtown development of Phoenix, he prides himself on having a strong understanding of what the industry needs in other parts of the valley.

Richard Lewis Jr. stated, “SVN DCA immediately had a sense of community to it. The office was welcoming. Plus the flexibility to work in the market segment I wanted to and really guide my own career was a huge driving force for me.  I wanted to be in control of my career and not be told to go into a sector where it fit best for the company. Plus factoring in the training program that SVN offers which no one in the industry had was a HUGE +. Commercial RE is different and learning those things on the fly would have taken significantly longer to learn and master if they weren’t taught to me through the SVN platform. Once I’m done with the on-boarding, I’ll be able to come out of the gate and be confident in my ability to practice commercial real estate with my first owner/tenant and not sound like I’m just getting into the industry.”

Kevin Weller, Arizona State University graduate and former Sun Devil quarterback from 2013-2015 also joined the SVN team fulltime.  When asked how commercial real estate relates to sports, Weller stated, “different checks against difference defenses, a linebacker coming on a late blitz, a safety dropping out of the box into coverage, things always change. This is how the commercial real estate market is as well, things change day to day, week to week, month to month and year to year. You always have to be thinking on your toes and ready to call an audible.” Weller will be focusing on the multifamily investment properties once the onboard training program has been completed.

Jurgen Mumm, a transplant from Boise, Idaho is finishing up his degree from Arizona State University in Finance.  “I have learned a lot through the process of being an intern and coming on board here at SVN.  The importance of diligence and constant improvement being two of the biggest is my greatest takeaway.” Mumm prides himself in having a strong work ethic and that coupled with his customer service and sales experience, Mumm will be a valuable resource and asset to the Commercial Real Estate community. “There are a lot of fantastic opportunities who are willing to put in the hard work. There is a strong culture at SVN of improving oneself in all aspects of life, working tirelessly to benefit clients and I am thrilled to be here to continue to learn from my colleagues,” said Mumm.  Weller added, “It feels like everyone takes a real interest in each other as people not just co-workers.”

SVN Desert Commercial Advisors was recognized as the top #3 Brokerage firm under 25 advisors in the state of Arizona by Ranking Arizona magazine in 2017.  “We have a great positive supportive culture in our office. We are more than just commercial real estate brokers.  We are people who are not only invested in our client’s investments but also in each other. We strive for successes for everyone in our office,” said Director of Marketing & Administration, Melissa Swader. “Between our Brand Ambassadorship program, Internship program and continual recruiting efforts, we have a solid brand in Phoenix and that is our SVN Difference,” said Swader.
